The extremely high wet (264°C) and dry (320°C) boiling points ensure maximum braking safety even under the most extreme conditions.
Racing situations.
The compressibility of Castrol SRF is extremely low and corresponds to that of conventional DOT 3 and DOT 4.
Brake fluids. It can therefore be used in any brake system without a mineral oil requirement.
Castrol SRF can be mixed with all conventional DOT 3 and 4 brake fluids. Topping up with a different fluid is not permitted.
However, brake fluid reduces the performance of Castrol SRF.
Unlike pure silicone brake fluids, Castrol SRF is slightly hygroscopic. It absorbs and disperses water vapor. Therefore
Brake failure is avoided as long as the wet boiling point does not approach the critical value of 264°C.
The wet boiling point of Castrol SRF can be checked with the Castrol Vapour Lock Indicator (VLI Tester).
