The 3.0L R6 biturbo engine (S58) in the BMW M3/M4 models is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. The charge air is therefore not cooled using the ambient air as the cooling medium (as is usual), but rather by means of a dedicated cooling water circuit. A reduction in the coolant temperature therefore directly translates into improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is precisely where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING upgrade water cooler come into play.
The newly developed Competition racing core of the WAGNERTUNING high-performance water cooler increases the cooling volume of the standard water cooler by a total of 60%. The ratio of inner to outer cooling surface used generates maximum heat transfer while still allowing sufficient airflow for heat exchange to the adjacent components (e.g., the engine water cooler located behind it). Furthermore, the water coolers are equipped with a heat-conducting, anti-corrosion coating, ensuring a lasting cooling effect. Installation of the system is also straightforward and plug & play with the help of our installation instructions.
